Update on our global projects

Dear Friend and Supporter of The Be Nice Express,

The Be Nice Express was founded by Lisa Morris 8 years ago. She also co-founded The Be Nice Club with Wendy Wolf.
Please read more about Lisa and her work HERE.

For the past weeks, Lisa has connected me to  people who are directly implementing, participating in, and benefiting from The Be Nice Express Global projects. This is life-changing work that has been made possible through your support, and I wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you.

Across all this work, one thing is clear: when people work together, extraordinary progress is possible. And while this work may not make headlines, it is making a difference in the lives of so many.

You have been part of our amazing journey, and we hope you're as proud as we are of the results.

Allow me to introduce myself, as certainly many of you have not known me. I am Steven Beingana, the Founder of Suubi Community Projects. Suubi is a proud beneficiary of The Be Nice Express.

I am glad to have joined The Be Nice Express as Director Global Affairs. In this post, I will be responsible for coordinating, guiding and reporting on all International projects that receive funding from The Be Nice Express. It is our task and obligation that we keep you updated on what the money you donate does. I will gladly be doing that periodically.

Completed Projects

  1.  Solar Light for Nabalanga Hospital ,Uganda.  The Be Nice Express donated $2300 for this cause through a Ugandan non profit called Suubi Community Projects. Suubi is a Luganda word that means Hope, and their mission is "To help people to help themselves."  The donated funds purchased and installed solar systems to provide adequate lighting in the Labor Ward, and in the Staff houses. With the solar lighting, many lives of especially children and women will be saved. The nurses used to help women to deliver using light from mobile phones.

On-going/Current Projects.
  1. Well for Kiloh Village, Kenya: The Be Nice Express has donated $1000 through the Kiloh Masai Village Foundation, a non-profit in Kenya. The money is a contribution towards drilling a Borehole Well in Kiloh village.
Women and children currently walk more than 4 kilometers 3-4 times per day to collect water which is dirty and unsafe and often leads to illness and disease. Providing a well near the village will not only provide the people with clean water and reduce illness and disease but also allow the children to go to school as they currently spend much of their time collecting water.  The work starts immediately they have the other funding from their other partners.

       2.  Well for a school and community in Tanzania: The Be Nice Express has donated  $3000 to Hope for the Destitute Peoples Foundation, for a clean Water Well for Upendo Children's Daycare Centre, Tanzania.
The mission of HDPF is to empower the most marginalized and poorest groups of rural women, children and young people through education and assistance to live a more dignified and sustainable life.
The clean water well will help the children's center and the surrounding communities.

                3. Septic tanks for a home for the homeless in Nigeria: The Be Nice Express has donated $2000 to Natural Healing Foundation. Through innovative, self-sustaining projects and partnerships, Natural Healing Foundation supports communities to improve quality of life. The money donated will be used to evacuate and install new septic tanks at a home for homeless and handicapped children.

                 4. Support to a school in India. The Be Nice Express has donated $3000 to MasterPeace India. The money will be used o carry out different activities at a local children's school.

                  5. The Be Nice Express Village-Uganda: The Be Nice Express is working with Suubi Community Projects to establish a one stop center where people can come and get skills in Agriculture and other craftsmanship trades. The center will be equipped with demonstration gardens and other farming projects like poultry. The center will also have facilities to produce some items for the needy people; items like shoes, soap, lighting fuel etc.
The Be Nice Express has already donated $4000 for the purchase of 1 acre of land in a prime agricultural location not far from the city. Part of this money will also be used to kick start off a Moringa Planting project.

           6. The Be Nice Express Village-Tanzania. The Be Nice Express is working with Hope for the Destitute Peoples Foundation to establish a similar center in Tanzania.
$4000 has also been already donated to purchase land.

We appreciate all that you do for The Be Nice Express. Thank you for your commitment to building a better world.

Sincerely
